Panasonic GF2 Review
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF2 is a new hybrid DSLR camera which is compact despite allowing interchangeable lens. The maximum effective resolution is 12.1-megapixels and is available in an array of colors including black, silver or red. However the white version is not available here, as of now.
Since it is the next version of an award winning camera, Lumix DMC-GF1, expectations are naturally high. The GF-2 looks mostly the same only lighter by 7% and smaller by 19% which might boost its popularity considerably.
Panasonic GF2 Review -Features:
Among the features, the pop up flash is an interesting addition which gives this camera a professional air. In fact, it even has a hot shoe port with which you can attach a larger flash for better lighting but then the optional EVF will be blocked as they share the same space on the camera.
However there are some major gaps in the feature list, like the absent hand grip. Though it does cut down the bulk of the phone but the contoured body and the subtle thumb pad can hardly replace the hand grip. But the good news is that since the metal build of the body is pretty solid, the grip does not feel unsteady.
Another feature was found missing in the Lumix DMC-GF2 and that is integral image stabilization which many of its competitors possess. So if you want to reduce blur when taking pictures in low light, you have to opt for lenses which have the optical stabilization feature.
Image quality:
Though a lot depends on the type of lens you are using, Panasonic is usually known for its crisp picture quality and stunning color reproductions. It does not achieve the high standards of an out-and-out DSLR but does pretty well as far as a compact hybrid DSLRs are concerned.
